Drawing a polygon - Tutorial for beginners

In this segment of tutorial exercise you will have an oppurtunity to learn how to draw a polygon and was submitted by Putta Swamy on 02 Feb 2007.

1) Select polygon icon as shown in Figure 1 or from Draw drop down menu as shown in Figure 2 or you can type "polygon" in the command prompt as shown in Figure 3. {Follow the link to learn how to open a AutoCAD session}

2) Now you are asked to specify number of sides to the polygon that you wish to have as shown in Figure 4 and press enter in the keyboard. I have entered five sides as shown in the figure.

3) Now you are asked to specify center of the polygon, just click any where in the model space as shown in Figure 5.

4) Now you are asked to specify option, I have selected "Inscribed in circle" option as shown in Figure 6.

5) Now you are asked to specify radius of the circle inside which the polygon will be created as shown in Figure 7 enter seven as the radius press enter in the keyboard to finish the polygon command. The resultant polygon would be as in Figure 8.
